Mayo Clinic Children’s seeks a physician assistant or nurse practitioner who is collaborative, compassionate, and committed to providing the highest quality care to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in Pediatric Pulmonology. This Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will be 1.0 FTE based in the outpatient clinic providing care to children and teenagers with pulmonary disorders including dysphagia, asthma, and others as well as children formerly cared for in the Mayo Clinic Children’s Aerodigestive clinic.
The job will include comprehensive physical assessment and evaluation, establishing treatment goals, coordination of diagnostic testing, interpretation of testing, trouble-shooting treatment related side effects, education of families, and communication with both Mayo and local providers. The APP will focus on the longitudinal management of children with pulmonary disorders. The APP will work closely with the physicians in the division, nurses, other allied health staff on the team, and resident learners. The Pediatric Pulmonology division is a group practice currently consisting of 3 physicians and 3 registered nurses. There will be opportunities to participate in clinical research as well as in education of patients and medical professionals.
Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN and APRN license and certification as a:
- Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
- Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification (PNP)
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.
Registration with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) is required. BLS is required.
Pediatric and/or Pulmonology experience is preferred.
