Job Description Summary:
The Associate Category Manager plays a critical role in supporting channel and customer-specific selling strategies and category management initiatives at BODYARMOR Sports Nutrition (BASN). This role utilizes a variety of data sources and analytical tools to deliver actionable, fact-based insights that influence decision-making at national retailers. The ultimate goal is to serve as a strategic partner to the Sales team, equipping them with the guidance, tools, and support needed to exceed sales targets.
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities:
Customer Support
- Serve as the primary category management contact for regional retailers including Winco, KVAT Food City, Giant Eagle, and Wegmans.
- Provide key support in driving growth and achieving objectives within these accounts.
Strategic Partnership & Leadership
- Lead strategic support for annual line reviews, including objective setting, meeting preparation, presentation development, and in-person participation.
- Deliver fact-based thought leadership to guide strategic and tactical decisions for customer planning and execution.
- Develop compelling insights and recommendations that align retailer and shopper benefits with BASN’s corporate goals.
- Utilize a wide range of tools including scan data, shopper panels, depletions, assortment/planogram software, and proprietary systems.
- Drive assortment optimization, inventory analysis, and regression modeling to create retailer-specific planogram recommendations.
- Act as a category-first advocate in key customer meetings, presenting best practices and success stories from similar accounts.
Category Analytics
- Continuously analyze customer performance to identify execution gaps, underperforming items, post-promotion effectiveness, and category trends.
- Identify pricing and promotional opportunities to ensure competitive shelf pricing and efficient trade spend.
- Own and enhance customer-specific reporting tools to support the Category Management team’s analytical processes.
Team Leadership and Enablement

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) required
Related Work Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, category management, shopper insights, or strategy.
- Field sales experience is a plus.
Functional Skills:
- Proven team player with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strategic thinker with a creative mindset and keen attention to detail.
- Advanced technical proficiency in:
- Scan systems (e.g., Nielsen, Circana, Scintilla, Madrid, 1010)
- Panel systems (e.g., Nielsen, Circana, Numerator)
- Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word

Pay Range:
$86,300 - $113,000Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
Annual Incentive Reference Value Percentage:
7.5Annual Incentive reference value is a market-based competitive value for your role. It falls in the middle of the range for your role, indicating performance at target.
