REPORTS TO: Senior Production Manager
SUMMARY: The Production Supervisor – Machine Operations is the first-line supervisor for the Machine Shop employees. The Production Supervisor – Machine Operations is responsible for preparing work schedules, assigning work, and overseeing all productions and working schedules. The Production Supervisor – Machine Operations is also responsible for ensuring all machine operation work is performed properly and in a safe manner, and that all maintenance and repairs of machines is performed timely and without delays to production schedules.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Has supervisory duties over all Machine Shop employees / Machine Operators.
- Reports all machine and employee concerns to Management.
- Oversees the machine shop equipment maintenance and repairs; reporting when repairs need to be made to Purchasing department in a timely manner.
- Oversees the daily schedule of the Machine Shop.
- Routinely verifies machine shop work product to check for accuracy and quality.
- Distributes Machine Operators’ work product to other areas of Production for build.
- Ensures that all work performed by Machine Operator’ is efficient and safe and follows all company machine operation procedures.
- Coordinates with Machine Operations staff to develop processes intended to continuously improve efficiency.
- Optimizes machines and processes, communicating ideas for innovation and improvement to Management.
- Maintains an inventory of machines and spare parts.
- Assists in other departments as needed, by request.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervises all machine operator employees within the Machine Shop.
- Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or 5 to 8 years’ related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses expert critical thinking skills, and can communicate effectively with both Machine Shop staff and Senior Leadership.
- Bi-lingual; Spanish speaking preferred.

- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and utilize hand and finger dexterity.

- Continually work near moving mechanical parts.
- Continually work around airborne particles produced by carpentry work, i.e., sanding, grinding, and painting/coating.
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than twenty-five pounds.
