The CNC Production Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of CNC department, ensuring targets are met while maintaining quality and safety. Initiates and develops the objectives, goals, and quality standards of the department.Assists the implementation of “lean” manufacturing principles. Maintain effective employee relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the procedures and techniques of all processes in department(s) of responsibility.
  • Provides initial training and advanced cross training for all department employees to maximize production efficiency and minimize scrap.
  • Develop a production control schedule with the Production Control Department.
  • Promotes a high level of employee motivation within the department.
  • Personal and professional goals that are centered on lean manufacturing principles, producing top quality instruments, raising the skill levels of each employee, maintaining low employee turnover, and ensuring a highly efficient work environment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and fabrication issues.  Develop tooling/machining solutions based on tooling knowledge and CNC capabilities.
  • Promotes effective two-way communication for productivity improvements, stressing quality along with productivity.
  • Verifies and confirms all labor transactions and material movement.
  • Facilitates cost containment measures for direct labor, indirect labor, raw materials, rework, factory supplies, overhead, inventory, utility costs, and tool spend.
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment, protects the safety and welfare of employees, and protects the facility from any undue risk.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required or equivalent work experience
  • Three to five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (Strong knowledge of CNC programming, setup and machine operation preferred).
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, strong problem solving/analytical competency.
  • A “can do”, positive, results driven attitude and expectation from all team members.
  • Required to talk, hear, travel around the plant, frequently required to lift and/or move up in excess of 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • May occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection is required.
