Latchkey Aide - Koepsell Early Childhood Center – Based on student need

(Current schedule: 1 - 5 hours based on student need)

 

Job Goal: Monitor children within the Latchkey program, meeting all LARA requirements and following district expectations. 

                                                 

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old at time of application.
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent, preferred.
  • Child care experience, preferred.
  • Must be cleared by federal background check.
  • Evidence of TB test and current Pediatric CPR/First Aid training.
  • Willingness to adhere to all LARA licensing requirements which may include but is not limited to initial and annual Health and Safety training, 18 hours of professional development hours per year, etc.  

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • Monitor children before and/or after school, ensuring active engagement and adherence to LARA-required staff-to-student ratios.
  • Track attendance and assist with maintaining accurate attendance records.
  • Participate in required in-service and online training programs to stay current with program standards and procedures.
  • Collect and record payments for Latchkey services; issue receipts and ensure proper documentation.
  • Report absences to the Latchkey Supervisor promptly; assist with arranging coverage when needed.
  • Maintain and monitor the condition of Latchkey supplies, games, and activity materials to support a safe and organized environment.
  • Assume responsibilities of the Latchkey Supervisor during their absence, ensuring continuity of program operations and adherence to policies.
  • The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.
  • Employee shall properly implement Board Policy 3122, Policy 4122, and Policy 2260 on non-discrimination and shall comply with Federal and State laws and regulations, particularly Part 1 104 of Section 504 Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (34 CFR) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent or designee, in alignment with district goals and operational needs.

Terms of Employment:     Class II – hours per day based on student need.

Compensation:                 Entrance Level: $14.02 Maximum level: $16.32 (based on CBA language) Benefits and compensation in accordance with Paraprofessional Collective Bargaining Agreement.
