Job Summary:
The Sales Director – US Paper Bags Central/West will lead, coach, and support the performance and development of Mondi’s regional sales team within the Flexibles Paper Bags business in the Western and Central United States. Reporting to the VP Sales – US Paper Bags, this role will contribute to supporting the team’s development as they drive customer relationships and sales within the region. In addition to people leadership and leading the development of sales talent across the region, this person will support the VP Sales – US Paper Bags in commercial strategy and excellence initiatives and to ensure execution of the company's growth strategy.
Your Mission:
- Oversee the sales team's development of new and existing customer relationships in support of growing market share.
- Assess capabilities within the sales team and recommend/implement strategies for developing sales talent in partnership with VP Sales - US.
- Champion the implementation of commercial excellence projects within the region.
- Provide strategic input into commercial planning and execution.
- Support your team in achieving site-specific sales efforts within the region to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Drive innovation in commercial approaches and new business strategy with the VP Sales - US.
- Collaborate with other US sales leaders and internal stakeholders to promote cross-regional and cross-functional alignment.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
- 7+ years commercial sales experience.
- 3+ years of direct management and people development experience.
- Strong team leadership and business knowledge of B2B sales - serving multiple sectors including food ingredients, building products, and/or agriculture and chemicals.
- Experience selling in the fiber-based packaging industry preferred.
- Proven success in developing sales skills in others and leading multi-generational teams.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Customer- and consumer-focused growth mindset with an emphasis on trust and long-term value.
- Passionate about team growth, winning new business and delivering measurable results.
- Effective influencer and communicator with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with financial fluency and business insight.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through others and develop talent in a sales setting.
