Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:
As a valued intern on our Underwriting team, you will gain experience with and exposure to Underwriting tasks such as:
Handle daily UW task lists for assigned Underwriters in additional to a small territory of your own
Correspondence with brokers, vendors, underwriting team
Preparation of accounts for modeling
Drafting quotes and binders
Post-binding account changes/ transactions
Policy issuance including correspondence to drafting team and broker to ensure policy is issued per binder.
Endorsement processing and issuance
Inspection processing
Accurate and timely status of accounts within systems throughout the underwriting life cycle
Operation of internal controls and timely closure of Internal Audit and other actions
General office administrative duties as and when required.
Technical Knowledge and Understanding:
Pro-active and driven to learn
Trucking background
Excess Auto tower building concept
Highly organized with attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Able to work easily with cross-functional teams
Experience:
Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Risk Management & Insurance, Finance or Business

The expected pay range for the role is $20-23/hour. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and experiences. The disclosed pay range estimate may also be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
