JOB TITLE: External Financial Aid Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Student Resources and Financial Aid
SUPERVISOR: Associate Director of Student Resources and Financial Aid
PAY RATE: $32,448/year
HOURS: 39/week
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Southeastern’s External Financial Aid Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and maintaining all external aid. This includes helping individual students, processing aid, updating scholarship information, and awarding.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer External Financial Aid, which includes confirming student eligibility, adding student awards, and disbursing funds; reconciling funds; and processing student loans
- Use information systems to input data, maintain databases, and generate reports
- Develop and maintain relationships with external scholarship organizations
- Maintain and update external scholarship information for office use and student-facing communication
- Work with Accounting Services in processing checks from external scholarship organizations
- Communicate key information to students and institutional offices
- Maintain a friendly, welcoming work environment that fosters in person engagement with students and allows for quick responses to email and phone calls
- Identify and prioritize problems; perform research and offer solutions, options/scholarships, and strategies
- Represent the Financial Aid team in a professional, knowledgeable, and welcoming manner
- Gain a general knowledge of institutional and government financial aid
- Assist in the development of overall office strategy and culture
- Participate in all assigned meetings; provide new ideas and support
OTHER DUTIES & REPONSIBILITIES
Complete training as required and assist in the training of staff as requested

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
- Responsible for performing reconciliation of external scholarships in conjunction with Accounting Services.
- Work with Accounting Services on processing checks from external scholarship organizations
EXTENT OF PUBLIC CONTACT
Maintain relationship with external scholarship organizations and represent Southeastern at Seminary and College Preview Days.
