STUDENT ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR - LHS
Job Description: The Student Activities Director provides leadership, vision, and coordination for Libertyville High School’s comprehensive student activities program. Guided by the District 128 DARING mission, this position fosters a positive school climate and culture by promoting meaningful student engagement, equitable access, and inclusivity. The Director plays a key role in developing and sustaining programs that enhance student connection, belonging, and leadership throughout the school community.

Qualifications: Illinois Professional Educator License with Administrative Endorsement
Previous administration and/or Student Activities experience preferred
Calendar: 194 days, School year and an additional 10 days
Shared responsibility for evening activities supervision

Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive vision and strategic plan for student activities that aligns with the DARING mission and supports school culture, engagement, and inclusivity.
- Evaluate student involvement data to ensure equitable access, representation, and participation across all student groups.
- Serve as the primary liaison between administration, staff, students, and parent organizations for all activity programs and events.
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to club sponsors in areas such as goal setting, scheduling, fundraising, account management, and communication.
- Communicate expectations and procedures for all club advisors and activity sponsors.
- Manage communications and promotional efforts related to student activities, including digital and print media.
- Plan and implement staff appreciation initiatives and events that contribute to a positive school climate.
- Review, approve, and monitor fundraising and financial processes for clubs and activities in accordance with district procedures.
- Evaluate and approve proposals for new student clubs and activities.
- Oversee the Link Crew program and Freshman Orientation to ensure a smooth transition and sense of belonging for new students.
- Collaborate with the Prevention and Wellness Coordinator on student wellness, Green Dot, and other student-led initiatives.
- Coordinate logistics for events, including facilities, equipment, custodial needs, transportation, supervision, and ticketing.
- Manage activity budgets and accounts, ensuring compliance with district financial guidelines.
- Serve as the main contact for the school’s yearbook and photography providers, and support yearbook staff as needed.
- Coordinate student activities on the school master calendar.
- Organize and lead the annual Student Activities Fair to promote awareness and participation.
- Lead and assist with the planning and execution of major school events and assemblies.
- Maintain accurate records of student participation and academic eligibility for all clubs and activities.
- Serve as the IHSA activities liaison for the school.
- Coordinate programs including monthly student recognition, graduation speaker selection, department awards, and student school board representative selection.
- Approve and support student club field trips, educational tours, and outings.
- Oversee athletic concessions operations, including ordering, account management, and support of the concessions manager.
- Collaborate with school and district leadership to uphold Board of Education policies and district guidelines.
- Partner with district administration on extra-curricular stipends and hiring of club sponsors.
