ATI is seeking to hire Industrial Maintenance Technician Apprentices. These positions will support ATI's Specialty Materials business unit in Monroe, NC OR Richburg, SC. The work schedule for this apprenticeship will be 7:00am to 3:00pm Monday-Friday for the duration of the apprenticeship. There are multiple openings for this position.
As an Industrial Maintenance Technician Apprentice, you will receive experience across the Maintenance organization, rotating between different operating areas of the plant and maintenance skill sets. This will include work focused on the machine shop, including lathe and welding operations, as well as mechanical equipment, and electronics/instrumentation.
This is an 16-month apprenticeship is partnered with York Technical College followed by 12 months of additional on the job training. Courses and work will begin in January of 2026. Courses will be completed in-person in Rockhill, SC during non-working hours.
This position is eligible for full-time benefits including medical/dental/vision, paid time off, and other commensurate benefits.
Upon successful completion of the 28 month apprenticeship program you will convert to a full-time Maintenance Technician, beginning work on the night shift.
All essential functions will be performed under the supervision of a maintenance leader and/or a full-time maintenance associate.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform entry level range of functions to maintain and repair plant equipment at the direction of lead technicians
- Assist the performance of all required operations to install, maintain and repair a wide variety of plant equipment and accessories
- Evaluate and recommend equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield on a wide variety of plant equipment and accessories
- Assist in safely install, maintain, and upgrade 3 phase motor control systems, AC/DC circuits, possess understanding of basic relay logic
- Assist in troubleshoot, install, and repair power units, valve operation, cylinders, motors, and pumps
- Assist in performing preventative maintenance on equipment using standard practices and procedure, and document preventative maintenance issues
- Maintain inventory of work areas, tools and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
