PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
General
Responsible for following and complying with all AISD and EHS Staff Policies and Procedures.
Maintain professional work environment through a positive attitude, punctuality, regular attendance, phone etiquette, and personal appearance.
Give leadership to the development of an integrated and quality content area service plan and assist in evaluation and enrichment of all facets of the component.
Advise the director in preparation of a budget for the assigned content area.
Assist in determining training needs of staff, parents’ and/or persons in the assigned content area and arrange for or provide the training when appropriate.
Attend staff meetings, professional development, and prescribed training, as necessary.
Supervise and train volunteers and content area staff.
Keep proper records and documentation to track and report content area service data and progress. Submit reports as required.
Ensure compliance with all AISD, Child Care Regulations, HS Federal Performance Standards, and all other licensing or funding agency requirements pertaining to the content area.
Maintain Program Service Plans.

Maintain a regular daily work schedule to ensure continuity of care for families and children.
Accurately documents, maintains reports, and tracks referrals, follow-up and other services to families. Keep timely, clear, and accurate documentation.
Work to assure that all information is maintained in a confidential manner that conforms to the program’s confidentiality policy.
Makes appropriate referrals to other leadership team members as necessary and fllows up through careful documentation and tracking
Provide on-going communication with and serve as a role-model for families with sensitivity to cultural differences.
Work in partnership with all content areas to ensure integration and continuity of quality services to children and families.
Participate in annual program self-assessment, development of campus improvement plan, and annual revision of content area service plans.
Substitute in the classroom to allow classroom teachers to attend meetings, conferences, lunch, etc.
Serves as an advocate and a public relations representative for the program, and children and families by representing EHS on boards, committees, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned by the EHS Director.
Other-Content Area Specific:
Review teacher lesson plans
Ensure teachers have appropriate supplies for food activities
Assist in monitoring new staff and ensure they understand policy, procedure, and expectations
Assist staff in completing his/her CDA
Maintain all requirements for Head Start, Child Care Licensing, Health and Fire Departments, and all other funding agencies
Ensure monthly Letters to My family are distributed
Ensure Dental Handouts are distributed
Ensure all procedures and other room postings are posted and current
Monitor room set up at transition and holidays with checklists
Monitor substitute folders each semester
Monitor room procedures are followed with the Room procedure checklist each semester
Complete documentation in preparation of Federal reviews
Assist in developing and correcting Program Improvement Plans
Develop, implement and assist in training for education staff
Enter data into MyHeadstart and Teaching Strategies GOLD
Conduct Coaching needs assessment annually
Participate in Self-Assessment Process
Mentor Associate Teachers
Aggregate & disaggregate GOLD Data, MyHeadstart
CDA-Hold a Professional Development Specialists Contract with CDA
Assist with classroom assignments
Assist with scheduling for absent staff
Assist teachers with issues that arise in classrooms
Monitor reports a minimum of 3x per year
Monitor inventory of Technology devices on campus
Submit work orders for technology for In-kind
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITITES:
Education staff (when necessary)

Practice-Based Coaching
Coordinate and provide professional development
Prepare data collection
WORKING CONDITIONS:
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT: computer, printer, calculator, tablet, copier, fax machine, laminator, phone, and fire extinguisher
MENTAL DEMANDS: work with frequent interruptions maintain emotional control
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: lift and carry up to 50 pounds ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time ability to walk, climb, balance, stoop, and kneel repetitive hand motions hear well speak clearly visual acuity distinguish colors driving personal vehicle as needed
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: exposure to biological and chemical hazards contact with children who are ill and/or possibly contagious contact with chemicals to clean and sanitize equipment and facility
