Location: Greensboro, NC

Position Type: Purchasing

Reports to: Purchasing Manager

 

Overview: 
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and products required for production. This role ensures timely procurement, cost efficiency, and quality compliance while maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting inventory management.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Source and purchase raw materials, components, and finished goods.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with production, logistics, and finance teams to align procurement with operational needs.
  • Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock.
  • Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of vendor management and contract negotiation.
