What You’ll Do
Design steel structures and concrete foundations for heavy industry projects using IBC and reference codes
Work independently on structural projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Electrical, Mechanical, Process)
Provide solutions for complex or unusual structural issues
Interact directly with clients and contribute to project planning and progress
Conduct field work and site visits to observe construction
Review and check drawings prepared by designers and other engineers
Support budgets, schedules, and project tracking
For senior-level engineers: lead structural design, manage projects, and mentor junior staff
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
3+ years of experience in structural design (preferably heavy industry)
Licensed PE in Virginia or ability to obtain licensure
Proficiency with structural analysis software (RISA, STAAD, RAM, SAP2000, etc.)
Experience with design tools such as RISA 3-D, Revit, AutoCAD, Mathcad, Excel, Hilti Profis, etc.
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering
Experience managing projects from estimation through completion
Knowledge of OSHA, masonry design, site civil design, and regulatory permitting
CAD drawing creation and familiarity with point clouds
Experience with dynamic, modal, and time history analysis
Ability to develop client relationships and lead multidisciplinary teams

Compensation: $85,000 – $160,000 depending on experience.
Entry-level engineers without PE: starting around $85K
Engineers with PE and more experience: higher range up to $160K
