The San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools office acts as an intermediate service agency between the California Department of Education and the 33 school districts in San Bernardino County to help meet the educational needs of all children county-wide. Job Summary
The Career Technical Education (CTE) Hourly Teacher – Agriculture and Natural Resources, will teach introductory and advance courses that focus on the fundamental aspects of domesticated plants and plant material used for decorative and recreational applications and prepares individuals to breed, grow, and utilize ornamental plant and soil science. Students will explore the suitable and sustainable agriculture varieties with hands-on learning; and blends horticulture knowledge with experiential education. The curriculum will explore cultivating outdoor and indoor spaces that support inquiry, interdisciplinary learning, and the holistic development of incarcerated and detained students. The curriculum will be taught in a thematic style.
Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Possession of a valid California Designated Subjects Career Technical Education (CTE)
Teaching Credential that authorizes the teaching of Agriculture and
Natural Resources -or- proof of enrollment in a credential program that
will grant the credential authorization;
• At least three (3) years’ experience working in the industry sector of Agriculture and Natural Resources;
• Possession of a valid Driver’s License for California and use of personal transportation required.
(An SBCSS vehicle is not provided).

• Copy of valid California Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching Credential (CTE)

credential program that will grant the credential authorization in Agriculture and Natural
Resources;
• One (1) current letter of reference (dated and signed within three (3) years).
