Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Arts/Science in Education or field instruction required
- Current Educator’s Florida Certification
- Gifted Endorsement or working toward a Gifted Endorsement
- Two years teaching experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports a positive learning environment and enhances professional practice through collaborative relationships and professional dialogue.
- Facilitates communication and collaboration for and within teams or departments, grade levels, staff, and administration.
- Mentor colleagues.
- Plans and leads team meetings when appropriate.
- Provides professional development regarding “high effect” instructional strategies.
- Effectively communicates expectations for student learning and behavior.
- Identify professional development objectives.
- Actively seek opportunities for professional growth to meet objectives.
- Serves as a member of the Student Services team to orchestrate school-wide program improvement in identification, curricular modifications, and assessment of gifted learners as well as twice exceptional learners.
- Recognizes work-related challenges and participates in solving those problems.
- Manages time effectively to complete roles and responsibilities of the job, Special Education, RTI, 504 and other assigned meetings and paperwork.
- Creates, supports, and maintains clear and accurate records of communication, student data, protocols, and schedules.
- Creates, supports, and maintains Viera Charter School identification and protocol documents.
- Provides teachers and parents with appropriate inventories to assist in identification.
- Creates and maintains Gifted Programming Identification summaries in a timely manner.
- Provides information to colleagues, students and parents regarding identification practices, learning outcomes, progress towards objectives, and participation in learning activities.
- Provides information and support to individuals, families, and educational teams regarding a student’s educational needs.
- Fosters others’ awareness of student learning needs, talents and challenges.
- Develops content for, coordinates, and facilitates professional development for student support staff, school leaders, and/or cohorts of educators’ continuous learning and improvement of practices related to gifted education.
- Follows and complies with applicable school, district, state and federal policies, procedures, and laws.
- Ensures consistent adherence to policies and procedures, including timely communication and monitoring of student progress with appropriate stakeholders.
- Ensures implementation of state mandate regarding development of Advanced Learning Plans for gifted learners.
- Acts as school/network support and provide additional assistance and resources at the request stakeholders as appropriate.
- Attends and participates in meetings with administration as needed.
- Provides timely and clear communication.
- Demonstrate problem-solving.
- Instructs on the implementation of research-based interventions that are based on quantitative and qualitative data collected along with meaningful classroom data.
- Demonstrates knowledge of content area and strategizes for student success.
- Demonstrates appropriate and correct use of assessments (formal and informal) for intervention development and matches the student needs for learning.
