Family Health Care is now accepting applications for the position of CAHC Health Educator and Program Supervisor!
General Function:
This is a position in the Community Health Department that provides oversight of the School-Based Health Center (SBHC) program and is responsible for SBHC health education programs (including classroom prevention and wellness); developing and oversight, in cooperation with the organization’s Finance Department, all SBHC budgets; completion and submission of all MDHHS and/or HRSA SBHC grant requirements; acts as a liaison to the community for school-based programs; and is the direct supervisor to the Clinical Patient Navigators (CPNs).
Primary Responsibility:
- Supervises, orients and evaluates performance of SBHC Clinical Patient Navigators.
Organizes and conducts educational programs enhancing school/community awareness of services and interventions to address the needs of the targeted population(s).- Designs, implements and reports on services which reflect the yearly goals and objectives of the SBHC Programs and the needs of the targeted population (3-21 years old and their children).
- Assist with start of grant projects such as renovations, new sites and/or new program requirement implementation.
- Serves as SBHC lead for administration duties.
Acts as a representative in the community for BFHC school-based health services.
Formal Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in education and/or certified teacher with emphasis in health studies, school administration experience and/ or licensed RN. Experience in finance/budgeting and grants management preferred. Experience in the functioning of health services and working with youth.
