Director of Sales
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Director of Sales. In this role, you will be a sales leader who thrives on driving revenue, closing business, and leading a high-performing team. You’ll own a territory and verticals with clear goals and expectations. You’ll be responsible for generating group business, developing key accounts, and leading the on-site sales team to maximize revenue.

You’ll be driven, strategic and relentless, selling with confidence, building strong client relationships, and leading a team to success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to maximize group bookings and revenue.
- Own and manage an assigned territory and/or verticals with measurable performance goals.
- Build, mentor, and lead a results-oriented sales team.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and industry partners.
- Collaborate with conference services and catering teams to ensure seamless event execution.
- Work on-site, engaging with clients and stakeholders from pre-opening through ongoing operations.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hotel sales experience at a 500+ room hotel or a hotel attached to a convention center with 80,000+ sq. ft. of meeting space.
- Proven ability to develop, negotiate, and close high-value group business.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating a sales team.
- Deep understanding of the meetings and conventions market in Virginia and Washington, D.C.
- Ability to think independently, problem-solve, and deliver creative solutions to meet client needs.
- A bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business, or Finance is preferred.
- Hotel pre-opening sales experience is preferred.
