This is an office-based position.

Responsibilities:

The Associate Software Quality Engineer is responsible for executing basic test plans and scripts to ensure that 
software meets defined functional and non-functional requirements. The role focuses on learning the processes 
and tools used in test automation, defect tracking, and software validation.

  • Test Planning and Strategy Development:
    • Develop test cases and contribute to test plans based on product requirements. Contribute to refinement
      of test strategies.
    • Learn and follow standard testing procedures and processes.
    • Participate in test plan discussions, offering feedback based on initial experiences.
  • Test Automation and Execution:
    • Assist in developing and maintaining automated test scripts for routine and repetitive test cases.
    • Execute automated test scripts.
    • Work under guidance to implement automation tools and frameworks.
  • Defect Identification and Resolution:
    • Identify defects during testing and assist in investigating their root causes.
    • Update test cases and scripts based on defects and findings.
    • Report issues to developers and work collaboratively to resolve defects.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with software developers and quality analysts to identify defects and improve test coverage.
    • Participate in project-wide meetings and offer insights based on testing experience.
    • Communicate test results clearly and report any blockers or issues to senior team members.
  • Continuous Improvement and Process Optimization:
    • Identify areas for improvement in testing processes and provide feedback to senior engineers.
    • Learn and apply best practices for software testing and automation.
    • Participate in reviews and retrospectives to contribute to process improvement.
    • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Basic Test Execution: Ability to execute predefined test plans and scripts with minimal supervision.
    Familiarity with various types of testing, such as functional, regression, and integration testing. Basic
    Understanding of test case design and defect tracking.
  • Test Automation: Exposure to test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG) and the ability to
    execute automated tests. Basic understanding of automated testing scripts and frameworks. Ability to
    maintain existing automated test scripts.
  • Defect Tracking and Reporting: Proficient in using defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) to log and
    report defects. Ability to reproduce and document defects accurately.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Ability to communicate test results and issues effectively within the
    testing team and to developers, and actively participate in team meetings and reviews.
  • Software Testing Principles: Basic understanding of testing methodologies (e.g., functional, regression,
    integration).
  • Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot basic issues and recreate defects.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to follow predefined test procedures and identify deviations from expected
    behavior.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail when executing test cases and documenting defects.
  • Learning Agility: Ability to learn new tools, processes, and technologies quickly.


Education:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information 
    Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field (or international 
    equivalent).
  • Typically requires 0 - 2 years of related experience in software quality 
    engineering or testing.
  • Experience with test execution and basic automation 
    tasks through internships or entry-level roles
