This position is responsible for rate setting and analysis and accounting support for DTNA’s full range of employee fringe benefits, including: health & welfare, short- and long-term disability, workers compensation, pension and other retirement benefits, 401(k), sick leave, vacation, and payroll taxes.

Position offers a starting salary range of $78,000.00 - $100,000.00 USD  

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience​

What You Drive at DTNA

Financial Reporting Tasks

  • Provide analysis and reconciliation on fringe benefit accounts across entities for the company to appropriately plan and make informed business decisions.
  • Support month-end analytical review process to ensure the accuracy of the month-end close.
  • Posting of required journal entries, support to all existing outsourced transactions and processes and validation of all system interfaces, internal orders, and intercompany accounting.
  • Perform data mining and configure key analytical data which assists in supporting and explaining financial statement component variances covering month over month, quarter over quarter and year over year financial results.
  • Participate extensively in the monthly closing process and with the explanation of financial results.

General Ledger Accounting and Financial Analysis

  • Review monthly fringe account activity and maintain key reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting across functional areas and cost center performance.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries as needed for fringe topics and provide support for accounting teammates detailing the drivers of adjustments.
  • Provide post-close monthly fringe benefit analysis and reporting, including analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Manage special (ad-hoc) assignments and projects as they arise, i.e. benefit plan mergers, HRIS and payroll system updates, support union negotiation scenarios, cost accounting allocation review, etc.
  • Prepare provision review analysis for fringe provisions on a quarterly basis.
  • Partner with OPT and controlling colleagues to prepare bi-annual fringe rate review and implementation of rates within cbFC.
  • Apply relevant guidance and perform necessary analysis for changes to accounting standards.
  • Provide support on issues and exceptions to accounting management as requested.
  • Support quarterly and year-end external audit requests.

Business Partnering

  • Partner with  OPT, accounting, and controlling colleagues to ensure fringe rates are accurate and applied correctly.
  • Timely communication of accounting adjustment impacts to business partners.
  • Assist with the research of various accounting issues; resolve accounting/reporting issues to ensure proper accounting standards and best practices are applied.
  • Provide analysis and support to business partners regarding questions surrounding financial impacts of fringe benefits and adjustments.

Methods, Processes, and Systems

  • Prepare communication of financial results and key performance metrics (KPIs) to management.
  • Prepare documentation of new/existing processes and policies.
  • Work with business partners to identify process and/or system improvements.

Internal Control Over Financial Reporting

  • Perform evaluation of Internal Controls over Pension and Benefit Accounting and ensure that the necessary controls are documented and tested in accordance with IFRS and/or the Company's internal requirements.

Cross-Functional Project Work

  • Communicate changes and facilitate collaboration across business partners.
  • Work cross functionally to achieve company goals while supporting business partners’ needs.
  • Drive organizational and/or system changes to meet Continuous Improvement and TOS objectives.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • BS/BA and 2-4 years relevant experience in accounting or finance 
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment using automated accounting systems and familiarity with International Finance Reporting Standards (IFRS) accounting principles      
  • Intellectual curiosity, with a track record of continuous improvement  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to operate up, down, or across the organization        
  • Detail oriented, strategic thinking for continuous improvement, demonstrates initiative        
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and root cause identification skills    
  • An attached resume is required

Exceptional Candidates Might Have 

  • CPA certification, or progress towards achieving it
