Position Purpose:
The Senior Director of Supply Chain leads the end-to-end supply chain strategy, including procurement, sourcing, inventory management, logistics, and distribution. This role ensures efficient and cost-effective operations while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. The position oversees purchasing strategy to maximize supplier relationships, control costs, and maintain high-quality standards across all materials and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive supply chain and procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead purchasing and sourcing activities, including supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management.
- Optimize inventory management, demand planning, and distribution to ensure product availability while minimizing costs.
- Responsible for timely and accurate order execution including, modifying and cancelling purchase orders (POs)
- Deliver proactive insights to Sr. Leadership regarding inventory health, supplier performance and shifts in business through the SIOP process.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, Finance, Sales, Manufacturing) to ensure supply chain alignment.
- Drive process improvement initiatives across procurement, logistics, and warehouse operations.
- Establish KPIs and metrics to monitor supplier performance, procurement efficiency, and supply chain effectiveness.
- Lead ERP or supply chain system initiatives to enhance visibility and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and company policies.
- Build and mentor a high-performing supply chain and procurement team.
- Manage budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and service levels.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Reports to TBD
- Direct reports: Supply Chain Managers, Purchasing Managers, Logistics Managers, and related staff
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel to supplier sites, distribution centers, and corporate locations (up to 20%).
Physical Requirements:
- Primarily office-based; may require visits to warehouses or distribution centers.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25–30 lbs when visiting operational sites.
Working Conditions:
- Standard office environment with occasional time in warehouses or distribution centers.
- Extended hours may be required during peak seasons or critical supply chain initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 15+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience, including procurement/purchasing.
- Experience managing complex, multi-site supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of procurement strategies, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and implement process improvements.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, supply chain management software, and data analytics tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or large-scale logistics operations.
- Expertise in cost reduction strategies, supplier risk management, and sustainability initiatives.
- Lean Six Sigma or supply chain certifications (CSCP, CPSM, etc.).
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Administration, or related field.
Preferred Education:
- Master’s degree or MBA in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field.
Minimum Years of Work Experience:
- 10+ years in supply chain, procurement, or operations leadership roles.
Certifications:
- CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), or equivalent preferred.
