We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join our team in developing and enhancing power protection equipment, including switchboards, power distribution units (PDUs), and power panels. Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design deliverables (design and documentation) for new and enhanced models of power protection equipment.
Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver designs on time, ensuring high-quality outcomes that meet customer and project requirements.
Contribute to design reviews, provide feedback, and make necessary modifications.
Design and release mechanical prototypes, support fabrication, and drive improvements following prototype evaluation.
Independently lead small projects, organizing engineering efforts to meet requirements.
Mentor and guide designers in converting concepts into engineering documentation and maintaining existing products.
Partner with production, supply chain, service, and other business areas to ensure products align with organizational needs.
Perform audits to ensure compliance with company standards and ISO 9001 requirements.
Basic Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field).
5+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
Solid knowledge of power protection equipment and familiarity with datacenter and light industrial markets.
Strong understanding of electrical safety standards (UL, IEC) as they apply to product offerings.
5+ years of SolidWorks CAD experience, including thermal and structural evaluation.
Experience with PLM software.
Proficiency in sheet metal design, detail part drawings, assembly drawings, and design for manufacturing.
Strong initiative, creativity, and attention to detail.
Collaborative, solution-focused approach with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and project management abilities.
Experience with switchboards, PDUs, UL 891, and UL 508 panels.
