Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and adaptive Marketing Content Specialist to write and refine inspiring, quality content for American Bible Society’s digital and print channels, aimed at helping people experience and share God’s Word. As a key contributor to our marketing efforts, you will help drive blog and social media content strategy, contribute to flagship print pieces like Record magazine, and support the creative team as you advance ABS’s mission and celebrate God’s life-changing work through storytelling.

Key Responsibilities:
These duties reflect the technical, collaborative, and strategic elements of the Marketing Content Specialist, focusing on serving the mission of American Bible Society by creating quality content for a range of audiences to advance marketing and fundraising strategies:
- Research and write complex, long-form content: Research and write complex, long-form content tailored to specific audiences, such as: blogs, devotionals, event collateral, email campaigns, brochures, internal communications, and articles.
- Create engaging, optimized social media content: Write content for social media channels, such as: video scripts, social posts, crisis prayer alerts, and campaign content.
- Create unique and compelling products for partners alongside the Creative Team: Serve internal and external partners with written content as requested and share responsibility for content project outcomes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with digital marketing, fundraising, and ministry teams on creative projects and marketing initiatives and help ensure alignment with project guidelines and strategic goals.
- Stay current with social media, SEO, and digital trends: Keep up with evolving digital trends, such as: digital marketing and donor communication best practices, AI tools, and social media updates pertaining to content within the scope of the Marketing Content Specialist role.
- Elevate the public profile of the American Bible Society brand: Hold to brand and style guidelines in content creation; help ensure that all content aligns with the ABS messaging platform and cultural identity, remaining true to American Bible Society’s mission and vision.
- Collaborate with vendor partners: Coordinate with external vendors to create, refine, QA, and distribute content as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, or related field.
- Experience: 3+ years’ experience in digital marketing and writing for diverse audiences and platforms.
- Strong written communication skills are required. Candidates may be asked to provide a writing sample during the interview process.
