JOB SUMMARY

As an Applications Engineering Intern at Marki Microwave's San Diego location, you will engage directly with customers to support their needs and manage key online resources such as the company website and datasheets. This role is pivotal in handling direct interactions including phone calls and emails, responding to specific customer or sales team requests, and performing advanced bench testing and measurements of our microwave components. This internship is ideal for students eager to apply their technical knowledge in a customer-focused setting within the high frequency RF industry, ensuring a hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. All internships are 10 weeks duration. Internship dates are from 6/22/2026 to 9/4/2026. All interns must be available for the entirety of the internship dates in order to be considered.

 This role will require access to information controlled under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR, 15 CFR §§ 730-780) and likely the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR, 22 CFR §§ 120-130). Applicants for this position must be one of a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or other Protected Individual (as defined under 8 USC § 1324b(a)(3)).s.  

 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly interact with customers through phone, email, and other communication channels to understand and meet their technical needs.
  • Manage updates and maintenance of technical datasheets and the company website to ensure accuracy and ease of customer use.
  • Perform hands-on bench testing and advanced measurements of RF/Microwave components, creating reports and documentation frequently requested by customers.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve complex customer inquiries and provide detailed technical advice.
  • Present results and customer feedback to the engineering team at the conclusion of the internship via a readout meeting.
  • Promote an ethics-based business culture within the organization.

 

 REQUIREMENTS 

  • College undergraduate studying Electrical Engineering with an interest in RF, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Strong academic record (minimum GPA 2.8).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple customer interactions smoothly.
  • Experience or strong interest in customer service or technical support roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed technical tasks and an understanding of RF/Microwave testing is preferred
