Salary London: “Base salary: £50,119pa to c.£58,963pa depending on skills and experience.
Salary Birmingham: “Base salary: £46,406pa to c.£54,595pa depending on skills and experience.

As a Senior Technical Interface Manager at HS2 you will be responsible for providing leadership to support the implementation of the strategic approach on technical interface management throughout HS2, working with all parts of the organisation (internal and external) to ensure that suitable resources, tools, and processes are in place.
About the role:
- Drive the implementation of the HS2-wide framework to develop and maintain HS2’s interface management capability.
- Maintain and oversee the implementation of the HS2 interface management training matrix to ensure the HS2 organisation has the competency through training and support applying process and using the interface management tool (Relatics).
- Develop and provide effective reporting on interface management to enable the proactive management of integration risks and effective decision-making, with a focus on those interfaces identified as critical to the delivery of an integrated railway.
- Analyse interface data to develop metrics and provide targeted reporting for the wider organisation, depending on their needs to support the identification of risks and opportunities.
- Identify and prioritise interface issues so they can be resolved at the appropriate level and in a timely manner to support contract delivery.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and use best practice to identify opportunities for efficiencies across the delivery teams.
- Input into and participate in technical assurance reviews and audits concerning the application of the interface management process within HS2 and the supply chain
- Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
- Ability to effectively engage with and communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to effectively influence and manage stakeholders at various organisational levels and from different parts of the wider organisation (HS2 internal and supply chain).
About You:
Skills
- Ability to apply systems thinking principles to provide specialist technical interface management leadership to project development/delivery teams whilst knowing when to seek further guidance from Subject Matter Experts.
- Ability to effectively analyse data to develop relevant metrics and tailored reports for various audiences and purposes.
- Ability to implement robust information management practices for data creation, transformation, and visualisation, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance, while knowing when to consult subject matter experts for specialised guidance
- Ability to manage conflict between different stakeholders to resolution
Knowledge
- Knowledge of railway infrastructure systems and how they come together as an engineered system.
- Understanding of project management principles to positively influence the HS2 programme, schedule, and cost.
Experience
- Experience in managing engineering and safety activity on engineering projects/programmes.
- Experience in managing competing project and engineering demands, with cost and schedule implications on any engineering projects/programmes.
- Experience with the integration of multiple engineered systems in a project environment.
