Job Purpose:
To lead and manage the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HSE policies, procedures, and initiatives across the business. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while promoting a proactive safety culture that protects people, assets, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Leadership
· Develop and implement HSE strategies aligned with business objectives.
· Lead HSE performance reviews and reporting to senior leadership.
· Champion a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
Compliance & Risk Management
· Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
· Conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
· Manage incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
· Act as the Lead auditor for HSE processes
Training & Engagement
· Deliver HSE training and awareness programs.
· Engage with employees and contractors to promote safe working practices.
· Support line managers in fulfilling their HSE responsibilities.
Monitoring & Reporting
· Monitor HSE performance using KPIs and audits.
· Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
· Maintain HSE documentation and records.
Environmental Stewardship
· Promote sustainability initiatives and environmental best practices.
· Ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
· Support carbon reduction and waste minimisation efforts.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
· NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent HSE qualification.
· Proven experience in a HSE leadership role.
· Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and standards.
· Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
· Excellent communication and influencing skills.
