Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing all daily, monthly, quarterly and annual processes for which the fund accounting team cover including:
- The daily P&L process, including attribution of P&L by driver;
- Responsible for the production of the daily, weekly and monthly fund return estimates and attribution;
- Full period-end close process, including:
- adherence to valuation source hierarchy and overall valuation policy;
- assisting administrator in receiving independent confirmation of external valuations; and
reconciliation of estimated NAV / P&L to final NAV / P&L
- Monitoring of daily valuation changes to ensure movements are in line with market drivers;
- Internal reporting including the preparation of monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reports for senior management summarising P&L attribution, fund performance, key drivers, changes and/or risks to business continuity.
- Managing the internal fund of funds rebalancing processes;
- Managing the FX hedge processes for the funds; and
- Assist in the development of new business, fund start-ups, new products or new corporate structures; and
- External reporting, including:
- Assist in preparation of annual audited financial statements;
- Regulatory reporting – assist in the preparation and review of Form PF, CPOand AIFMD;
- Shareholder reporting; and
- Corporate and Fund board reporting.
- Driving forward continuous change as part of the wider finance team thus enabling the firm to continue to innovate and become more scalable and efficient as it continues to grow and add more fund products to investors.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal skills;
- Particularly adept in Excel and other Microsoft programs;
- Process improvement skills, ideally with Python/Power Suite tools/VBA
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a range of competing priorities and projects to tight deadlines;
- Educated to degree (or equivalent) level or higher, preferably from a leading university;
- ACCA, CIMA or ACA Qualified with 3yrs PQE experience;
- Employment within an asset management environment;
- A detailed knowledge of fund accounting, involving equalisation credits, contingent redemption, and series accounting is essential;
- Adept at discussing and considering hypothetical scenarios and generating ideas with respect to Fund Accounting;
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all staff at all levels;
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a range of competing priorities and projects to tight deadlines;
- Appropriate IT skillset; and
- Demonstrable and robust people management experience;
