Head of Maintenance and Engineering (Wasserburg am Inn, DE) at RKW Group

Your role and responsibilities

• Strategic and operational management of the Maintenance and Engineering departments at the site.
• Ensure continuous operational readiness and modernization of production facilities and machinery.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement technical investment projects, machinery modifications, new installations, and repairs.
• Monitor and control maintenance activities, including mechanical/electrical assembly and commissioning.
• Guarantee compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and occupational health regulations.
• Lead, develop, and schedule assigned specialists and team leaders.
• Optimize resource utilization (personnel, budget, material) and report to site management.
• Coordinate and collaborate with internal interfaces and external partners and suppliers.

Your profile and qualifications

• Completed degree in engineering (e.g. mechanical engineering, electrical engineering) or equivalent qualification.
• Several years of professional experience in a leadership role within Maintenance and/or Engineering, ideally in a manufacturing industrial environment.
• Solid technical and process expertise in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and plastics technology.
• Proven experience in technical project management as well as in leading and developing teams.
• Knowledge and experience in occupational safety, explosion protection, emission control, water-based and gas-based fire extinguishing systems are an advantage.
• Strong knowledge in maintenance and engineering of production facilities.
• Experience in managing and executing multiple technical projects in parallel.
• Strong leadership skills, team orientation, as well as excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent command of German and English, both written and spoken; advanced Bavarian dialect skills are an advantage.
• Strong ability for interdisciplinary collaboration combined with high team spirit, communication skills, and social competence.
