Replacement Faculty Positions

The School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa is accepting applications for two (2) replacement faculty positions. We are looking for candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Introductory/general psychology, with evidence of experience teaching large classes 

  • Research methods

  • Clinical psychology (e.g., psychopathology, assessment, treatment modalities) 

  • Child development

The Faculty of Social Sciences comprises nine departments, schools and institutes, which offer undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs in both English and French. Its graduate students are trained by excellent researchers and undertake cutting-edge research in the Faculty’s Master’s and Ph.D. programs.

Title of the position: Replacement Professor

Duties:

• Teaching at the undergraduate level.

• Participating in academic and administrative activities.

• Other activities as specified in the collective agreement.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a doctorate in psychology. Candidates who are close to completing a doctorate may be considered.

  • Demonstrate excellence or the potential for excellence in teaching.

  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario is an asset.

Bilingualism

Active bilingualism is required at the time of hiring. The language of work at the School of psychology is both French and English. The selected candidates must demonstrate that they are able to teach in both French and English.

Terms and Salary:

The three-year contract will begin on July 1, 2026, and end on June 30, 2029, and is non-renewable. Salary scale for replacement professors starts at $99,377 (as of May 1, 2025) for a full-time teaching workload.
