Regions Hospital is looking to hire an exceptional, experienced Nurse Education Specialist to join our Inpatient Nursing  team. This position will coordinate orientation of nursing team members, preceptors and charge RNs; deliver training and education specific to population-based staff throughout a variety of educational opportunities; facilitate on-going staff development; support policy, procedure, order set, work standard and competency development; coordinate the evaluation of new products, equipment, and/or technology in partnership with Nursing Practice team and Value Analysis Team; will participate in departmental policy and procedure development, implementation, and interpretation for members of the healthcare team. The Nursing Education Specialist (NES), as part of the nursing leadership team, provides leadership that reflects the vision, mission, and philosophy of the Nursing Department and HealthPartners. The NES facilitates best nursing practice and enhances safe, quality patient care by: 1) Planning, developing, and conducting professional educational opportunities for employees of HealthPartners in a quality conscious and cost-effective manner. 2) Establishing a work environment that promotes learning by individual growth/development, professional practice, and a collaborative team approach to assure excellence in delivery of quality, population/age-specific care and a high level of staff satisfaction.

As a nursing education professional you will assist in establishing standards or criteria based on the mission, values and philosophy of HealthPartners through our Shared Governance Model, which focuses on evidence-based nursing practice. Work Schedule: 0.90 FTE, Day Shifts. No scheduled weekends.

Required Qualifications: 
•Master’s degree in nursing, health sciences or education (completed or enrolled). If enrolled, must show continuous progress towards degree completion
•Current license as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota

•Current CPR certification (American Heart BLS for Healthcare Providers) 

•Minimum of 3 years (6,240 hours) experience in area of clinical specialty
•Experience in leadership roles, research utilization, staff development, and interdisciplinary collaboration 
•Experience as a preceptor/Charge RN and continuing clinical education

 

Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience in teaching 
•Membership in specialty professional organization 

•Certification in Nursing Professional Development (NPD-BC) and/or area of nursing specialty recognized by national certification body. If not complete, prefer acquisition within 2 years
