Optometrist - Retina, Westwood at UCLA Health

Required:Possession and maintenance of an active license to practice optometry from the California Board of Optometry.Applied understanding of general and complex principles of optometry and best practices for the diagnosis and treatment of eye-related disorders and conditions.Exceptional oral and written communication skills including knowledge of medical and ophthalmic terminology to establish effective working relations with all levels of university staff, faculty, trainees, and patients.Ability to work in a cooperative and collegial fashion with other members of the Division to provide exemplary patient care.Ability to work quickly and efficiently under a variable but often busy workload.Ability to function in a research environment with patients who are enrolled in clinical study protocols.Ability to learn new routines quickly, to follow routines consistently, and identify better ways of accomplishing routine tasks.Demonstrated or acquired competency in office and medical center-based data and electronic records systems (Epic CareConnect, including Kaleidoscope, PCIMS, CDS; image viewing environment e.g., AXIS etc.)Ability to maintain patient confidentiality with the staff, faculty, and patients.Demonstrates critical thinking skills and multitasking ability.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to elderly patients of diverse backgrounds.
