WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Slot Technical Manager, you will oversee the overall success of the slot technical department at The Rio Las Vegas. This includes direct oversight of the staff and the successful operations of the machines & casino management system. Your comprehensive knowledge and hands-on leadership will be a critical support for your employees, facilitating the smooth functioning of our entire gaming system.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Adheres, monitors, and enforces compliance with the casino’s internal control standards (ICS) as they relate to the Slot Operations Department.
Complies with all NVGCB gaming rules and regulations.
Implements and enforces company/department policies and procedures.
Recommends and issues discipline to Slot Technical employees.
Holds themselves and other employees accountable for the highest quality of work.
Monitors and evaluates job performance of the Slot Technical employees.
Manage departmental P&L – responsible for maintaining par levels for spare equipment while being mindful of repairs and maintenance budget.
Trains employees on new/existing products and company/department policies and procedures.
Assigns job duties/tasks to the Slot Technical employees.
Directs, coordinates, and assists (where applicable) the Slot Technicians in all casino projects.
Assists department management with project planning as needed.
Inspects work of Slot Technical employees.
Responsible for the timely and proper completion of the work of Slot Technical employees.
Monitors and coordinates break schedules, granting additional breaks were needed.
Authorizes overtime when necessary to complete casino projects and/or provide necessary floor coverage.
Grants early-outs to Slot Technical employees.
Addresses and resolves employee disputes in conjunction with department management team.
Coordinates emergency responses/evacuation of assigned Slot Technical employees.
Assists in the interviewing and assessment of job applicants’ technical abilities and makes hiring decisions.
Create and implement slot preventative maintenance program.
Assist audit/compliance or any other departments responsible for auditing the slot department.
Aid floor people in verifying jackpots and fills as needed.
Assists in ensuring machine integrity when jackpots occur and at other times requested.
Brings disputes and unusual guest activities to the attention of the Slot Operations Manager/Director.
Provides exceptional guest service that differentiates us from the competition.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supervises Slot Technical Team Members.
REQUIREMENTS
Three years of slot technician experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Possess, or be able to obtain, a Gaming LVMPD work card.
Technical Skills:
Hold an advance knowledge of casino electronic gaming machines: Specifics are noted below.
Extensive knowledge of all game manufacturers and their components.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to teach the repair of any electronic gaming machine.
Be proficient in the proper preventative maintenance program and ensure proper tracking is done.
Proficient with the IGT Advantage Casino Management system
Knowledge of IGT floor manager (download and config)
Understanding of M5 / Avento Boards
Handles the initial set-up and configurations of new slot machines.
Understand / Read vendor PAR sheets to prepare for new machine installations and configurations.
Creates & verifies checklist and configuration sheets for all projects, small or large, when applicable.
Manages both the slot tech database housing all Rio slot machine information and the IGT Machine Accounting database.

Effectively present information in one-on-one and large group situations. Be able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical analysis.
Read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, such as technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to specify and develop queries/reports using a range of software. Be able to think logically and follow detailed instructions.
Working knowledge of networking as it pertains to the casino floor.
Able to troubleshoot problems from the data room to the game level.
Understands how CAT6 cabling, network switches, transmit/receive signals all work together with the SAS player tracking and IGT floor manager systems.
Understands the difference between SAS and SbX.
Knowledge of Title 31 and Suspicious Activity Reported by Casino (SARC) requirements.
At least 21 years of age.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
Must regularly lift and/move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
Must be able to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
PAY RANGE
