Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.  Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals.  Applicants must demonstrate a strong record of academic accomplishments with NIH-supported research programs. Research expertise in translational science is preferred, particularly in areas related to heart and lung disease, circulatory dysfunction, aging and metabolic disorder, inflammation and immune response, and organ transplant.
