Summary and relationship to the curriculum: All classified positions will strengthen the delivery of instruction to support the system mission statement. This position works alone and assists supervisor in maintaining all Maintenance equipment, trailers, and vehicles by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:
- Maintains, repairs, and replaces damaged parts on all vehicles including, cars, trucks, vans, etc
- Maintains, repairs, and replaces damaged parts on all grounds equipment including weed eaters, edgers, blowers, etc.
- Maintains, repairs, and replaces damaged parts on all motorized maintenance equipment including backhoe, choppers, forklifts, mowers, trailer lifts, etc.
- Rebuilds engines for vehicles when cost efficient.
- Orders parts and maintains and updates inventory on parts in Mechanic shop warehouse.
- Maintains and updates maintenance records for all work performed on equipment and vehicles.
- Maintains working knowledge of electronic mail usage, and ability to access Internet websites for part numbers and downloadable equipment and vehicle information.
- Maintains inventory of all issued tools and equipment necessary for equipment and vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.

- Education and/or Experience: A one year certificate from an accredited technical school; or six months related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certificates or License Required: Valid Georgia driver's license.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
