At the present time, a vacancy exists for a full-time Dean of Students within the Career, Technical, & Customized Education division at the Chester County Intermediate Unit. This position is based at the Technical College High School Brandywine campus located at 443 Boot Road in Downingtown, PA.
Summary of Position:
The Dean of Students works closely with the school leadership team to provide behavioral supports for students and classroom management strategies for instructors.
Qualifications:
- PDE certification required
- Minimum of five years’ experience as a teacher, administrator, or school counselor.
- Experience leading or working with school behavior teams preferred
- Current FBI Fingerprints, PA State Police, and Child Abuse clearances, dated within one year
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor student attendance & behaviors and address concerns
- Maintain open communication with parents, staff, and building administration
- Maintain a safe & secure learning environment for all students. This may include crisis response, safety meetings, safety drills, etc.
- Counsel individual students through the development of behavior intervention plans and collaborate with school counselor regarding student success
- Consult with teachers, staff, and parents regarding meeting the developmental needs of students
- Participate in IEP meetings, as requested
- Maintain accurate records, transcripts, and files for students in electronic student management system
- Participate in Student Assistance Program (SAP) and seek community resources when necessary
- Respond to crisis situations when appropriate
- Attend evening parent meetings and other parent information meetings as needed
- Facilitate student participation in standardized testing
- Perform other duties, as assigned

- $68,403 - $104,546 - Master's + 15
