Custodial Supervisor
Job Goal: The Custodial Supervisor oversees all aspects of custodial operations across the district. This role ensures that school facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained, manages custodial staff, coordinates cleaning schedules, and oversees special projects. The supervisor will develop and implement policies, control operational costs, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
Basic Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of five years of facilities management experience in commercial real estate, institutional, or academic settings.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team.
- Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures related to custodial operations and personnel management.
- Experience monitoring and controlling operational costs while maintaining high-performance standards.
- Knowledge of construction management, architectural design principles, building codes, and inspection procedures is preferred.
- Strong conflict resolution, presentation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in coordinating and managing special cleaning projects and event setups.
- Ability to respond to emergency custodial situations, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and evaluate custodial team leads, head custodians, and custodial staff to ensure high-quality performance.
- Develop and manage work schedules, ensuring appropriate staffing levels for all district buildings.
- Monitor cleanliness and maintenance standards through regular inspections of facilities.
- Oversee custodial supply inventory, prepare purchase requisitions, and manage vendor relationships.
- Implement and enforce policies and procedures related to custodial operations.
- Maintain accurate payroll, records, and reports related to custodial staff and building conditions.
- Coordinate and oversee special cleaning projects, including deep cleaning, floor care, and seasonal maintenance.
- Ensure proper setup and staffing for district events across multiple campuses.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Respond to emergency custodial situations and assist with problem resolution.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Technology and Operations.
Reports To: Executive Director of Technology and Operations
Location: District-wide position overseeing custodial operations at all buildings.
Compensation & Schedule:
- Salary: $67,227 to $75,665, based on experience.
- Schedule: 240 workdays per fiscal year. Monday–Friday, with flexibility for nights and weekends as needed.
- Benefits: per the Administrator Master Agreement
