Who We Are


Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

This is a safety sensitive position. As the Human Resources Business Partner, you report to Human Resources Manager. 


What You Do

  • Serve as a HR point of contact for all areas and departments, providing guidance and support to supervisors and employees on all employee relations matters.
  • Partner with leaders to promote fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures and ensure compliance with California employment laws and regulations.
  • Lead and coordinate full-cycle salaried recruitment efforts — including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding — to ensure the hiring of qualified, diverse talent.
  • Manage new employee orientation and onboarding processes to ensure a positive start and smooth integration into the company culture and safety programs.
  • Support employee development and leadership development initiatives by developing, coordinating and tracking skill-based training programs.
  • Lead the employee performance review process for hourly employees, roll out, tracking and administration of the process.
  • Assist in performance management processes, including coaching supervisors on effective feedback, documentation for hourly employees.
  • Lead the annual Open Enrollment Benefits plan program initiatives, including scheduling and running employee information sessions, enrollment of employees into their benefit selection, ensuring tracking of the employee’s enrollment completion.
  • Collaborate with the HR team on employee engagement, retention, and communication initiatives.
  • Works with HR Manager on Workers Compensation, Unemployment Insurance claims administration.
  • Other HR administrative processes and procedures as required.
  • Participate in HR-related projects, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Functions as the HR Manager’s principal partner in managing departmental activities and priorities.
  • Support and help develop and employee focused, safety culture

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in mining, construction, manufacturing, or another industrial setting.
  • PHRca, PHR, or SHRM certification preferred or working towards it.
  • Works collaboratively with the HR team.
  • Strong knowledge of California labor and employment laws.
  • Proven experience in employee relations, recruitment, benefit administration, onboarding, and training coordination.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HR information systems (HRIS) such as Paylocity.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
