Duties and Responsibilities

Must be able to travel to industrial manufacturing facilities and interface with operations, engineering, equipment supply, and construction personnel.

Half of your time through the year will be spent at Industrial Manufacturing Facilities in the Territory we serve.

  • Perform audits of existing customer systems at site and produce documentation for that system as-is and will-be that will be used internally, by the customer, and Account Managers.
  • Work alongside the Manager and Project Manager to schedule set-up and execution of new systems and DeltaV software version upgrades as required.
  • Build load documentation for new servers and workstations with the specified software.
  • Oversee and execute loading of new servers and workstations with specified software.
  • Perform internal and customer witnessed Factory Acceptance Testing of new systems and DeltaV software version upgrades.
  • Lead site execution of DeltaV software version upgrades and system installs with support from Field Service technicians.
  • Assist Account Managers with technical discussions with potential and current customers.
  • Provide quotes for man-hours and review bills of material and overall proposals for new opportunities.
  • Train newer employees and Field Services technicians on hardware, software, and best practices.
  • Proactively seek out the newest and latest technologies, become proficient in them, and train others.
  • Assist in maintaining existing lab resources and adding and removing lab environments as project demand dictates:
    • Maintain existing Active Directory environment
    • Maintain existing Hyper-V infrastructure
    • Preform OS patching and firmware updates to systems
    • Upgrade and install new equipment as projects are approved
    • Add and remove development systems as project demands require
    • Add and remove remote access connections to a Lab with management approval
    • Maintain existing documentation and add as required
    • Maintain existing networking and patching as projects are added and removed

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Other engineering Degrees (Chemical/Bioengineering/Mechanical) will also be considered.
  • 5+ years’ experience administering Server, Storage, and Network technologies.
  • Clear understanding of the architecture and technologies of automation and control system preferred.

Skills/Experience

  • 5+ years of direct experience in Microsoft Operating Systems from Server 2016 and Windows 10 to current.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in virtual environments and relevant connected technologies (focus in Microsoft Hyper-V)
  • Working knowledge of SAN-Host and Microsoft S2D hyper converged cluster architectures
  • Basic understanding of iSCSI connections to SAN’s
  • Working knowledge of networking with Layer 3 switching including a basic understanding of VLAN access, trunk and general ports.
  • Basic understanding of the Purdue networking model with focus on Level 2 and Level 3 networks.
  • Must have Level II or III Upgrade certification through Emerson or be willing to attain this certification within the first year of employment with the Company.
