ACET is seeking a Facility Security Officer (FSO) who will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of industrial security and compliance in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Department of Defense (DoD), and other federal agency requirements.

The FSO serves as the primary point of contact for all security matters at the Lexington, Kentucky facility, ensuring that ACET maintains full compliance with government security regulations while protecting classified and sensitive information.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented security professional with a strong understanding of DoD security procedures, personnel clearances, and facility accreditation processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer all aspects of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) for the facility in compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM Rule).
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and other relevant government agencies.
  • Oversee personnel security clearances (PCLs), including initiation, reinvestigation, and continuous evaluation for all cleared employees.
  • Maintain and update JPAS/DISS, NISS, and related security systems to ensure accurate and timely data entry.
  • Manage facility clearance (FCL) documentation, reporting requirements, and annual security reviews.
  • Conduct and document self-inspections, security education, and awareness training programs for all cleared staff.
  • Ensure secure storage, transmission, and destruction of classified information in compliance with government standards.
  • Support proposal efforts and new business pursuits requiring classified access or facility clearance upgrades.
  • Investigate and report security incidents, violations, or suspicious activities per regulatory guidance.
  • Coordinate with HR, IT, and Contracts to ensure compliance with internal security policies and government regulations.
  • Maintain security policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and facility security plans.


Qualifications

Required:

  • U.S. Citizenship (Mandatory).
  • Active Top Secret security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an FSO or in a related industrial security management role.
  • In-depth knowledge of NISPOM, DCSA processes, and Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
  • Experience managing security functions in a cleared DoD contractor environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Completion of FSO certification courses (FSO Program Management, NISS, DISS).
  • Knowledge of CUI/ITAR compliance and insider threat programs.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or multi-program facilities.
