Our Manufacturing Planning and Operations (MP&O) team supports H-E-B’s Plants, which produce high-quality Own Brand products that deliver superior value to our Customers. As we evolve into the greatest Omnichannel Retailing Company, MP&O is expanding its business lines and leading digital transformation efforts to better serve our Stores and Customers.

 

As a Manufacturing Operations Training Manager, you’ll lead the design, delivery, and oversight of technical training programs for both hourly and exempt Partners across our manufacturing facilities. Your work will directly impact operational excellence, Partner development, and the success of our transformation initiatives.

What is the work?
Onboarding & Technical Training
- Design and manage technical training programs for Manufacturing Plant Partner roles, Team Leaders, Operations Leaders, and Plant Leaders

- Ensure comprehensive learning of general and role-specific responsibilities
- Deliver refresher training and real-time coaching for hourly Trainers
Curriculum Development & Systems Integration
- Develop and maintain technical curricula aligned with operational goals

- Integrate new technologies and digital tools (e.g., D365, MES, EAM) into training programs
- Champion the use of iDevelop as our Learning Management System
Training Strategy & Compliance
- Coordinate with Training Within Industry (TWI) processes for job instruction

- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with training standards across all Plants
- Monitor SOP and process changes to trigger timely training updates
- Link training improvements to Plant Metrics

Coaching & Leadership
- Coach Trainers and Leaders on best practices in facilitation and instruction
- Assist with hiring and onboarding new Trainers
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure curriculum relevance and effectiveness

- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation and facilitation abilities across all levels of the organization
- Professional and persuasive leadership presence
Technical & Analytical
- Knowledge in digital tools and reporting systems (e.g., D365, MES, Insights)
- Ability to analyze training performance and recommend improvements
- Working knowledge of regulatory and H-E-B policies and procedures
Interpersonal & Leadership
- Great interpersonal skills
- Ability to coach, train, and lead with empathy and clarity
- Commitment to continuous learning and development


What is your background?
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Organizational Development, Manufacturing Management) or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Operations
- Experience in formal training or instructional design (preferred)

- Function in a fast-paced, demanding retail or office environment with tact and attention to detail
- Travel extensively by car or plane with overnight stays
- Regularly lift up to 20 lbs
- Stand for extended periods
- Work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays if needed)
