Position Summary

The Machinist is a skilled technical role responsible for the setup and operation of advanced CNC equipment in a high-precision manufacturing environment. This position requires strong machining expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while meeting quality and production standards.


Key Responsibilities

Machining & Setup:

- Set up and operate multi-axis CNC lathes and Swiss machines, including:

   • Tsugami SS327-III-5AX with FMB Turbo 3-38 Bar Feeder

   • Tsugami SS207-5AX with Minuteman 320 SE Bar Feeder

   • Haas SL-10 Lathes with MTA International Bar Feeder

   • Hardinge CNC Lathes and CHNC-42 models

   • Hwacheon CNC Lathes 

   • Haas CNC Mills

- Interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements with tolerances as tight as ±0.0002".

- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting strategies for various materials.

- Perform in-process inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.

- Complete setups efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

Quality & Compliance:

- Follow AS9100 quality standards and internal procedures.

- Document setups, inspection results, and maintain accurate records.

- Support continuous improvement initiatives for process optimization.

Collaboration:

- Work closely with programmers, quality inspectors, and team members to resolve technical issues.

- Communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and on-time delivery.


Qualifications

- Experience: Minimum 5+ years in CNC machining, preferably in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in multi-axis CNC lathes and Swiss machines; familiarity with Fanuc controls.

- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GD&T and tight tolerance machining.

- Certifications: AS9100 familiarity preferred.
