Requirements / Qualifications
A valid California Child Development Teacher Permit or higher issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) is preferred.
Alternative Qualification Options:
Candidates who do not possess the preferred permit may qualify if they meet all the requirements under Option 1 or Option 2 below, which are the minimum qualifications to apply for the CTC Child Development Teacher Permit.
Option 1: Education and Experience
*24 semester units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development, which must include courses in the three core areas:
Curriculum (CUR)
Child, Family, and Community (CFC)
Child Growth and Development (CGD)
*16 semester units in General Education, including one course in each of the following areas:
English
Social Science
Math or Science
Humanities
*175 days of verifiable experience working in a childcare or development program within the last four years. (Experience must consist of at least three hours per day.)
Option 2: Degree Pathway
*Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development.
*3 semester or 4 quarter units of supervised field experience.
If you meet the requirements for Option 1 or 2, you qualify to apply for a Child Development Teacher Permit. Successful candidates will be required to obtain this permit shortly after hire.
If you are intern eligible for the PK-3 Early Childhood Education Specialist Instruction Credential, please upload your official internship eligibility letter with your application.
Salary Info
$43,979- $70,097 MVUSD will recognize up to 7 years of full-time experience for initial salary placement.

Assignment is in an early learning classroom, partnered with a Special Education Teacher. Site TBD.
Due to state licensing requirements in the early childhood program, applicants hired for this position will be required to provide proof of Pertussis and Measles immunizations.
