Position Overview
CriticalTilt, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Datacenter Technician to support the deployment of infrastructure for new datacenter builds. The technician will play a critical role in executing physical and logical buildouts, ensuring that server, network, and storage components are installed, configured, and validated according to engineering design specifications.

Working from baseline drawings, playbooks, and device configurations, the Datacenter Technician will implement, validate, and, when necessary, adjust deployments to address real-world conditions during installation. This role requires technical proficiency, precision, and adaptability within fast-paced build environments.

The position reports directly to a designated Project Manager and will interface regularly with customer engineering teams to ensure successful infrastructure deployment and datacenter readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the deployment of infrastructure for new datacenter builds, following provided designs, documentation, and configuration playbooks.
  • Perform rack and stack of servers, GPU systems, network switches, and storage appliances according to design specifications.
  • Execute structured cabling installations, including labeling, routing, and termination to meet quality and compliance standards.
  • Install and support air and liquid cooling systems, ensuring proper integration and system performance.
  • Conduct Ethernet and InfiniBand network configuration for servers and interconnects following approved procedures.
  • Assist with or perform base configuration and validation tasks under direction for systems such as VMware, DataDirect Networks (DDN), NetApp, and WekaIO, using predefined playbooks and configuration scripts.
  • Implement and verify device configurations as provided; adjust configurations as needed to align with on-site conditions and functional testing.
  • Conduct hardware and network troubleshooting to resolve installation or integration issues.
  • Carry out server imaging, configuration management, and post-install validation to ensure system readiness.
  • Utilize and maintain Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM), IP Address Management (IPAM), and monitoring tools to document and track deployment progress.
  • Coordinate closely with customer engineers and project leadership to communicate build status, issues, and modifications.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety, security, and compliance requirements while operating within datacenter environments.
  • Provide documentation and feedback for continuous improvement of design playbooks and deployment processes.
  • Travel frequently to customer datacenter sites as required by project timelines and locations.


  • Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Relevant technical certifications or equivalent experience in datacenter operations, networking, or systems administration.
  • Proven experience in datacenter buildouts, migrations, or infrastructure deployments.
  • Hands-on experience with server, GPU, network, and storage systems, including installation and maintenance of air and liquid cooling technologies.
  • Practical knowledge of Ethernet and InfiniBand networking, including switch configuration and interconnect setup.
  • Familiarity with performing or assisting in base configuration activities for platforms such as VMware, DDN, NetApp, and WekaIO under engineering guidance.
  • Strong understanding of rack and stack, structured cabling, imaging, and configuration management practices.
  • Familiarity with DCIM, IPAM, and related infrastructure management tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and configuration documentation.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on customer schedules and delivery deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work onsite across multiple datacenter locations.
