Title: Lead Education & Literacy Instructor (ESL)

Locations: Goodwill North Central Texas --- 4005 Campus Drive, Fort Worth, Texas

Salary: Based on Experience

Work Hour: Full Time, Exempt. Typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 am start time

General Job Duties: Develop and maintain ESL lesson plans based upon formal assessments and student goals using instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student needs. Instruction must produce educational improvements for all assigned students as measured by student baseline/progress testing. Conducts any and all activities necessary to secure progress tests for all students after 60-70 hours of instruction. Work in coordination with curriculum developer to develop effective lesson plans. Conduct all activities necessary to meet and surpass all Target Performance Measures. Submit all required documentation and reports in accordance with program guidelines: student-related (attendance reports, assessment, counseling notes, etc. and all staff-related (timesheets, professional development forms, end of year, etc.) Manage classroom behavior. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of and adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of the Agency, program, and any related regulations. Compile, maintain and file all reports, records and other documents required in a timely manner. Oversee the scheduling and administration of weekly CASAS assessments to ensure consistent evaluation of student learning and support academic growth. Review and analyze Burlington English distance learning reports to ensure accurate documentation of study hours for qualified students. Serve as the primary point of contact for the Burlington English ESL platform, including the administration of student enrollment and exit processes. Facilitate monthly meetings with Adult Education instructors to offer guidance on curriculum delivery and ensure alignment with program procedures and instructional best practices. Train new staff and ensure all training hours are provided to WFD Program Manager to be accurately document in accordance with the Agency policy. Design and facilitate quarterly professional development sessions for the Adult Education program to strengthen instructional practices and enhance effective curriculum implementation. Oversee student enrollment and data management in CaseWorthy to ensure accurate tracking of participation and services provided. Attend staff meetings, and other Goodwill North Central Texas event/meetings as required. Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level is preferred. ESL certification (preferred). Working knowledge of a second language (preferred). Trained in adult learning methodology and a minimum of two years’ experience working with adults is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly with individuals from diverse social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with students, staff, and community.

Physical Requirements: Office environment, mobile, ability to sit for long periods of time, and able to lift 10-15 lbs. occasionally. Must have reliable transportation.

Legal Requirements: Documentation to satisfy I-9, ability to pass drug screen, background check, and meet staff qualifications.
