Yard Assistant

Pierre Landscape is currently recruiting for a Yard Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, and supporting field operations in a fast-paced construction environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in yard operations, a strong work ethic, and an interest in landscape construction.

This position plays an important role in keeping our projects running smoothly by assisting with yard organization, material handling, and supporting deliveries when needed. We’re looking for someone dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within our team.

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily yard organization, including loading/unloading trucks and maintaining clean, safe work areas.

• Support deliveries and pick-ups of materials, tools, and equipment as assigned.

• Assist as a backup driver when needed, operating company vehicles safely and following all traffic laws.

• Inspect and maintain vehicles, trailers, and small equipment as needed.

• Coordinate with field teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

• Operate light equipment such as skid steer, mini excavator, dingo, or power buggy (training available).

• Maintain accurate timecards and delivery documentation.

• Perform basic inventory and assist with equipment check-in/check-out.

• Follow all company safety policies and report any incidents or hazards promptly.

Additional Duties:

• Fuel and prepare vehicles and equipment for daily use.

• Keep yard, trucks, and storage areas organized and free of debris.

• Assist Yard Technician and Supervisor with maintenance or repair tasks.

• Support project teams as needed with general labor or delivery tasks.

Facility & Office Support Duties:

• Assist with general upkeep around the office and yard, including cleaning, organizing, and small maintenance tasks.

• Help move furniture, desks, or office equipment as needed.

• Set up and take down tables, chairs, or tents for company events or meetings.

• Support special projects or facility improvements as assigned.

• Provide hands-on assistance to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient working environment for all departments.

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Valid California Driver’s License.

• Prior experience in a construction or yard environment preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Work is performed in an outdoor yard and field environment.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Frequent standing, bending, and manual labor required.

Work Environment:

• Outdoor yard and field settings with exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, dust, and rain.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM, with overtime as needed.
