Job Summary:

The Billing Specialist will be instrumental in establishing and executing efficient, customer-focused full-service billing processes. This high-visibility role involves daily interaction with both customers and management. The primary responsibility is to accurately process billable invoices for all organizational functions. Depending on the Billing Manager's direction, a Billing Specialist may focus on specialized billing by function, specific customer accounts, or product type. 


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Generate and distribute invoices for services rendered to customers. 

2.  As required, liaise with service technicians to confirm and verify details on service tickets before invoice generation. 

3. Critically review finalized invoices for accuracy, verifying that time and material charges are appropriate for the services provided and adhere to customer contracts. 

4. Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable department and Billing Manager to address and resolve customer questions or discrepancies regarding service invoices. 

5. Engage in clear and professional communication with customers through both verbal and electronic means. 

6. Foster and maintain positive, productive working relationships with the Contracts, Accounts Receivable, and Customer Support teams. 

7. Undertake additional tasks as directed that align with the company's mission and values, contributing to its overall success.


Requirements

 Functional/Technical Skills: 

  • Attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of debits and credits.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy to include spreadsheets and word processing (Microsoft Excel).
  • High level of accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.

Education & Experience: 

  • High School Diploma required.
  • An associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of service billing
