Position Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner (“HRBP”) will focus on day-to-day administration of Human Resources policies and procedures. Responsibilities include resolving employee relations matters within our regular and temporary workforce, handling employee complaints and inquiries, working with management to address performance issues and terminations when necessary. The HRBP will provide coaching, counseling and training to managers and employees on performance management and policy interpretation and establish and maintain a collaborative, consultative and strategic working relationship. An effective level of business literacy and culture are key to providing the necessary support to management and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation and guidance to managers and employees on employee relations matters  
  • Advise management and provide recommendations regarding performance management, coaching and disciplinary action
  • Facilitate investigations as needed and provide support to management and legal, as appropriate, in conducting investigations
  • Assist managers/supervisors with written expectations, Performance Improvement Plans and Disciplinary Action notices to employees
  • Ensure necessary termination measures have been followed and employment termination paperwork is completed
  • Conduct exit interviews with employees to identify retention issues and communicates feedback and recommendations to appropriate management
  • Provide timely response and resolution of employee complaints
  • Provide support to management regarding organizational change
  • Provide consultation and guidance to managers on interpretation of policies and practices, as well as state and federal employment laws
  • Work closely with other departments to support business initiatives, in particular payroll, finance, and legal
  • Provide support and answer questions for other departments, interpret HR and payroll business policy and procedures

Additional Responsibilities

  • Create and update job descriptions for new and existing personnel as necessary
  • Exercise discretion and confidentiality in regards to employee privacy
  • Develop and deliver training programs/presentations for managers and employees; such as new hire orientation, performance management, coaching/counseling and discipline, policy and procedure, etc. as needed
  • Support compliance programs and related reporting needs, such as AAP, EEO, and VETS, as needed
  • Active participation in department initiatives and projects as assigned
  • Position may require some travel
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Working knowledge of HR Laws, policies and procedures and their application
  • Strong ability to interface with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with management in order to coach and lead
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, and related administrative practices
  • Highly comfortable working in a fast-paced, work environment with changing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and writing skills
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft and/or SuccessFactors a plus

Education

Bachelor's Level Degree

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant human resources experience
