Temporary part time 1-19 hrs/wk, Monday-Friday 12pm-2pm - $13.00 per/hr. This position is designated under the AbilityOne Program and is set aside for individuals with significant disabilities. Our mission is to provide meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
The Contract Support Worker position supports the Contracts Department by performing a variety of contract support duties such as clerical, janitorial, and dishwashing at various Assets’ Contract Sites.
Summary
In accordance with Assets, Inc. core values and mission, this position supports the Contracts Department by performing a variety of contract support duties such as clerical, janitorial, and dishwashing at various Assets’ Contract Sites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Adheres to and demonstrates Assets, Inc. core values, mission, policies, and compliance plan in the performance of all aspects of this position.
- Able to perform the following depending on the job being performed:
- Operation of computers to monitor quality of input from scanner.
- Operation of scanners
- Manually or mechanically washes and rinses dishes, glasses and silverware; maintains proper temperature for sterilization.
- Sort dishes/silverware by size and type.
- Ability to use a dust pan, broom, mop in high foot traffic areas.
- Ability to pick up and discard debris (newspapers, empty cups, other trash items) left on floors, chairs, and countertops.
- Completes company required training and participates in meetings as directed.
- Completes necessary safety training for each assigned contract site.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Education and/or Experience:
- No prior experience, training, or minimal education required.
Language Skills: Ability to read alphabetize or arrange numerically is preferred.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to deal with standardized situations with simple one or two steps instruction is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be able to pass a criminal background check under state regulations.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Requires the ability to work in a professional manner with other department personnel.
- Ability to count and understand organizing by dates, read, alphabetize, collate, letter fold, stuff and label envelopes, operate computers and scan machines.
- Ability to be alert, accurate, and attentive while performing repetitive tasks while seated or standing for long periods of time.
- Must be able to use a scanner and copier effectively.
- Ability to discriminate between clean and dirty.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to work in public as a member of a dishwashing/janitorial crew.
- Must demonstrate good hygiene, professional dress, appropriate customer service skills, as well as the ability to follow directions and receive supervision from more than one supervisor.
