We are looking for a talented Health, Safety & Environment Risk Support Practitioner- Area HSE Leader to join our team specializing in Health and Safety for Cummins, Inc. This role will directly support the following branches:

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Support Regional Sites: Implement health, safety, and environmental programs, initiatives, and tools to achieve regional objectives and targets.
- Collaborate Globally: Represent the region in global teams to drive continuous improvement through program, policy, and procedure development.
- Guide Implementations: Guide sites in implementing health, safety, environmental, and sustainability controls through procedures, administrative controls, engineering controls, education, and awareness programs.
- Problem Solving: Address non-routine and common health, safety, environment, and sustainability issues across the region, promoting standardization and best practices.
- Lead Audits: Participate in regional health, safety, environment, and sustainability audits, supporting sites before and after audits to ensure preparedness and conformance.
- Investigate Incidents: Provide hands-on support for local incident investigations of severe incidents, ensuring reporting obligations are met.
- Manage Suppliers: Lead the management and evaluation of regional health, safety, environment, and sustainability suppliers and consultants.
- Communicate Objectives: Execute health, safety, environment, and sustainability communication objectives to align with the global communication strategy.
Responsibilities
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Health, Safety and Environment Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis - Examine HSE incidents by completing quality, evidence-based investigations with accurate root cause analysis, resulting in effective corrective actions, accurate reporting and avoiding repeated incidents.
- Implementation of Risk Controls – Use the hierarchy of controls to aim for long-term solutions that effectively reduce risks. Work closely with teams to ensure controls are practical and widely accepted.
- Influence the Health, Safety and Environmental Culture - Demonstrate positive health and safety behaviors in your daily actions. Use persuasive communication to influence leaders and employees towards a proactive safety culture.
- Risk Assessment - Regularly evaluate the work environment to identify potential hazards before they become issues. Prioritize actions that significantly reduce risks and ensure they are practical and sustainable.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or university equivalent required. Health and Safety and/or Environmental degree preferred.
- Significant relevant HSE experience required. 5-7 years of experience. Previous experience working across various countries within the region preferred. Progress toward professional certification, preferred.
