Description

 The role of the Maintenance Technician is a hands-on role responsible for performing maintenance, safety, and management tasks that ensures facilities are safe, up to code and fully operational. Position will inspect facilities and coordinate renovations, repairs and updates. The position is responsible for managing contractors, employees, and third-party vendors who are responsible for the tasks that ensure facilities are safe, up-to-codeand fully functional. Must have knowledge of two or more specific maintenance trades such as carpentry, electrical, or mechanical.

Responsibilities:

? Oversees and supervises the quality of work of contractors and employees to ensure tasks are performed correctly, efficiently, and effectively.

? Performs complicated tasks on the maintenance of plant, or office buildings, including equipment installation, carpentry, HVAC electric repair, pipefitting, or plumbing as necessary.

? Work in a safe manner and in accordance with established operating procedures and practices 

? Troubleshoots and repairs existing and potential problems. Maintains and repairs all mechanical facilities throughout the plant, such as cranes, pumps, boilers, tanks, air, water, pipes, exhausts, etc.

? May diagnose trouble and perform repairs on all types of electronic, heavy, and mechanical systems.

? Perform routine plumbing maintenance such as fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, and ensuring proper operation of water systems.

? Conduct basic electrical work including replacing light fixtures, outlets, and switches, and assisting with minor wiring repairs.

? Other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned

Requirements

? High School diploma, GED, or certificate in related discipline, BA in Facilities Management, Construction Business Administration, or related discipline strongly preferred

? Five years’ hands-on experience in building services and engineering, general contracting, facilities management, and /or office administration

? Solid electrical background

? Strong project management skills 

? Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
