ASSISTANT SHIFT SUPERVISOR - EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES
County Rescue Services, Inc. ("CRS") is a non-profit corporation in Green Bay, Wisconsin. CRS provides exceptional emergency first responder and non-emergency medical transport services to 22 communities in Northeast Wisconsin. The Assistant Shift supervisor role is critical to successfully achieving CRS's goals and priorities. CRS's primary goal is to achieve positive patient outcomes in a timely and compassionate manner, and attention to patient needs is its number one priority.
CRS provides services through various licensed medical personnel, from Volunteer Medical First Responders to Critical Care Trained (CCT) Paramedics. CRS medical personnel respond from each of our four stations in the greater Green Bay area. Volunteer Medical First Responders serve from their home communities. CRS paramedics and EMTs are responsible for responding to emergency medical services requests and providing Basic and Advanced Life Support to sick and injured persons at emergency scenes and during transport to or from healthcare facilities.
Position Highlights:
Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor or EMS Chief, the Assistant Shift Supervisor assists the Shift Supervisor in executing the Shift Supervisor's duties and responsibilities and temporarily assumes those duties and responsibilities in the absence of the Shift Supervisor. These duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensures the highest quality of service to all patients, customers, and employees.
- Provides leadership and mentorship to personnel assigned.
- Ensures that assigned employees maintain their proficiency and competency through training and evaluation.
- Works with Supervisor and EMS Chief to ensure day-to-day operations are completed.
- Verifies completion of required documentation, including but not limited to patient reports, other reports relating to daily operations, and inventory control sheets.
- Ensures daily activities are completed according to company policy.
- Demonstrates a continual awareness and use of positive interpersonal communications and public relations skills in supporting the CRS philosophy, mission, and quality of patient care.
- Maintains effective internal and external working relationships.
- Participates in committee work.
- Provides on-scene care and response with the "chase" vehicle.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Wisconsin EMS license. Paramedic license preferred.
- Three years of field experience is required; 5+ years is preferred.
- Must satisfy training and recertification requirements established by medical control and the Company policy manual.
- Must successfully complete designated supervisory seminars or training programs within ninety days of assuming the Shift Supervisor's position; this may include online training.
Education and License:
The Assistant Shift Supervisor must have a State of Wisconsin EMS license. Paramedic and Critical Care Training (CCT) is preferred but not required.
Knowledge acquired through relevant work/field experience and the demonstrated ability to successfully apply that knowledge is essential for this position, as are demonstrated leadership, organizational, and management abilities.
A Bachelor's or Associate's degree is desirable but is not a minimum position requirement. When determining a person's qualifications for this position, educational degrees are considered supplemental credentials to relevant work/field experience, depending on the course of study and degree obtained.
Required to complete an orientation, onboarding, and proficiency course; ongoing proficiency courses are required as needed.
